Spiritual: Finding Acceptance and Peace

I found myself paying more attention to organized religion.  Not good for me though.  It felt too hollow.  Pat responses and quick fixes which were more comfort those trying to comfort me.  I had to move toward peace and that meant I had to discover my own beliefs.  Jeff did not go to Hell.  He lived in Hell in his earthly existence.  The escape through death was his peace.  If, in fact, he actually killed himself.
What do people say of suicide?  They say you go to Hell if you do it, that suicide is the unforgivable sin.  So, let's test that belief and look at the biblical verse itself:
“Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation” – because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.” (Mark 3:28-30 http://www.bible-knowledge.com/unpardonable-sin/)
So, take comfort in the accurate verse and what it refers to.  Suicide is not a sentence to Hell.

Finding a little peace gave me some rest.  I asked a doctor why people kill themselves.  He said they have many different reasons such as sacrifice for others for a greater good, impulsive anger in a way to hurt another/others.  Then there are those who can't see themselves in a future and they feel hopeless.  We try to do all that can possible be done to intervene in a suicide; I know I did and I'm sure you also did if you are reading this blog now.

I had to let go of my perception of the God I thought I knew.  I was raised Catholic and for a long time I loved my religion and the faith it gave me.  Jeff and I had joined a charismatic church which was an eye opener for me!  I learned new forms of biblical interpretation and as time went on, I was unwilling to suspend my own logic for the oddities of such passion and conviction.  I mean, I really went out there on a faith-limb in hopes God would revive Jeff (see my blog entries for March 20th through March 26th, 2012).http://www.bible-knowledge.com/unpardonable-sin/
